Replacing a Bath With a Shower In Corfe Mullen

Our customer decided they wanted to replace their bath with a shower after we had installed a new bathroom. Could we do it without damaging their new bathroom? Of course, we could!

We originally installed a new bathroom for this customer in the pretty Dorset village of Corfe Mullen back in 2017. It was a complete bathroom refurbishment, including a new bathroom suite and fully tiled walls and floors. Fast forward 5 years and the bathroom still looked like new but there was one problem. The customer didn’t want the bath anymore and contacted us to ask if it could be removed and replaced with a large convenient walk-in shower enclosure.

Understandably, our customer did not want the expense or upheaval of refurbishing the entire bathroom. Not a problem, as we had supplied and installed the tiles, we were able to source both the grey wall tiles and accent mosaics. We suggested replacing the bath with a 1700×700 shower tray from Crosswater, as this would match the footprint of the existing bath and meant that the original floor tiles would not have to be taken up. For the shower screen, we again turned to Crosswater, specifying twin fixed glass walkin shower panels to create a large easy to access shower enclosure.

After removing the bath and installing the new low profile shower tray, our tilers expertly installed the new wall tiles and matched the vertical strip of accent mosaic tiles. Once the new tiles had been grouted you really could not tell that there had ever been a bath in the room. To complete the project, our dedicated shower enclosure team installed the wet room shower screens. From start to finish the project too 3 days to complete. Transforming the bathroom with minimal cost and disruption to the customer, who was suitably pleased with the results.
